This place earns full margin all categories- food, service, & atmosphere. The food was amazing! Generous portions of all the food served. Hands down the best British style fish in the city. It is in an unassuming strip ball. But once you walk in, you are greeted by the welcoming decor of what you imagine a favourite neighbourhood pub would be like. We were greeted at the door by Jessica the server. She introduced herself immediately and gave us a brief rundown of the place as it was my first visit. She was super friendly and attentive to our table without being bothersome. The fish was fresh, and cooked perfectly. The batter is light and crisp; not oily at all. They even cooked the fries to our preference - extra crispy. We added on the coleslaw, which was fresh, crunchy, not overly dressed, and seasoned well with a hint of dill. For dessert we had the Eton Mess. So good. Seriously good! Definitely try it. It is big enough to share and still feel like you got dessert, not just a sampling. A HUGE plus is that Winston’s is a sit down restaurant and your order is taken table side, unlike most other fish & chip joints where you order first before being seated. It’s a hidden gem. I could not believe that it wasn’t busier. Highly recommend trying it for yourself. You’ll be very glad you did. And spread the word.

Winston's Fish and Chips. We were greeted by two wonderful servers, showed quickly to our table our food came out quickly and hot! We ordered the halibut and haddock with chips, onion rings and calamari. The fish was excellent! I especially enjoyed the haddock, it was so juicy and the batter, wow! The calamari was great as well. We had a visit with Jay, I believe the owner, we enjoyed hearing about the history of the restaurant. Wonderful to see it was busy. Will definitely be back!

It’s a must visit .... We have been going for years but recently celebrated a 93 and 78 birthday and our friends that are turning 94 can’t stop talking about the service the chef the clam chowder and of course the fish. The cod and halibut is a must. There is nowhere in the city that can match them. They brought out a special dessert on top of that to celebrate the occasion. Thanks to the staff and their undivided attention.

Absolutely the BEST fish n chips shop in Edmonton with surreal tartar sauce! Perfectly fried huge 2 piece Haddock & fries with a Kilkenny beer sat down and ordered right away, and my food showed up 5 minutes later cooked to perfection. I will always return here time and time again. If you haven't been to Sir Winston's Fish & Chips, you need to go there this summer.

So I ordered takeout. I expected the fish to be quite good as any fish and chips place should be. BUT the fish ended up still exceeding my expectation by a lot. I thought the price was a bit much but after tasting their food, I get it. I totally get it. I also tried their deep fried Oreos and they did not disappoint. Would definitely come back and likely will soon.

Food is excellent. Nicely seasoned fish with a light batter. Many options for fish. We tried the cod and halibut. Good portion sizes. Fries were nice and crispy including the onion rings. Something about the spices in the onion bahji, I would not get it again. Sticky toffee pleasant. Would have liked to have more British imports for drinks vs American. Place is neatly decorated with London-inspired artwork. It was a little drafty inside. Server had nice recommendations. They also have a "take-and-bake" freezer section to try some of their pies and pasties at home.
